FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Monday 12 August 2013

The Mullumbimby Circus Festival is thrilled to host an array of world-class, international, national and local performers including those direct from the spectacular Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2013 this October.

The Edinburgh Fridge Festival is the largest arts festival in the world, with every year attracting thousands of performers across a multitude of stages all over Edinburgh. From the countryside of Edinburgh to the rolling hills of Mullumbimby, introducing *drumroll*………….

Three of Australia’s finest circus birds 3’s A Crowd, wild cabaret duo Die Roten Punkte, physical theatre frontrunners Casus, and finally, a few of the trouble makers from of trash brat-pack Briefs, all fresh from their wickedly enthralling shows in Edinburgh. Undoubtedly exceptional performers in their own right, this is a unique opportunity for the Northern Rivers and wider communities to come together, for one weekend and be entertained like never before. And these are just some of the highlights to discover!

‘There’s a huge buzz in Edinburgh at the moment about the Mullum Circus Festival – performers and friends catching up in the bars and after-parties of shows, sharing ideas of acts they’re bringing and adapting for us. I keep hearing and reading the words ‘See you in Mullum!’. My inbox is full of artists wanting to be a part of our celebrations and sending us goodwill and love in the preparations.’ reveals Shien Chee Co-Producer and Programming Coordinator

‘Sensitive, engrossing and quite beautiful. Three female dancer/acrobats carry out some stunning sequences in hoops, on ropes, on the floor and -believe it or not – atop glass bottles… worth getting lost in” -Eleanor Miller Adelaide Now review of 3’S A Crowd.

The local cast of superstars coming together to celebrate 21 years of the Spaghetti Circus includes The League of Sideshow Superstars, a collection of elite sideshow artists starring Shep Huntly, The Space Cowboy, The Great Gordo Gamsby and Australia’s first female sideshow sensation Tigerlil.

The festival couldn’t function without the overwhelming support of the local community. The pavilion at the festival venue has been home of the local Spaghetti Circus Organisation for the last 17 years and the focal point for the local Mullumbimby agricultural show. Dennett’s IGA Mullumbimby is donating a generous $5000. This amazing donation will go towards buying new aerial equipment and floor mats for the organisation.  The Spaghetti Circus is nothing without the team of volunteers, staff, parents, community and business support which keeps them on their feet and lifts them into the air.

“Circus is all about family and Spaghetti is one big family, we are coming together from all over the world to celebrate the family that we love –  once a Spaghetti always a Spaghetti” from Alice Cadwell Co-Producer and Production Coordinator

The Mullumbimby Circus Festival has a variety of fascinating activites and entertainment over three fun-filled days. Workshops for all ages, random happenings, market stalls, circus cafe and
a bar, a cinema and gallery will be yours to explore. Enter the Big Top in awe and gaze amazed at the aerial acts and flying trapeze. Discover intimate sideshow shenanigans and glam up at a cabaret.
