Gasworks E-News Bulletin  |  4th June 2014

“We are delighted to announce that Trash Test Dummies were crowned Gasworks Circus Showdown Champions on Saturday 31st of May, and the wonderful Feet2Feat took out second place for their piece, The Journey’s End. Our first place prize winners received $2,000 cash from the Gasworks Foundation, a free professional photo shoot, free rehearsal time, free lighting and design consultancy, and a free professional marketing consultancy. Our second place prize winners received $1,000 cash from the Gasworks Foundation, free registration to the Adelaide Fringe Festival 2015 and a free professional marketing consultancy.

The judges, Matt Wilson and Andrea Ousley, had an incredibly difficult task selecting a winner, as the standard of performance, theatricality, skill, dexterity and originality was incredibly high. The Gasworks Circus Showdown Grand Final sold out the Friday before, and the full house served as a great third judge – cheering, stamping their feet and applauding the finalists.

We would like to extend our congratulations and gratitude to all the finalists; White and Green, Idle Hands, Illuminate, Flow, Rue, and Mr Disco. Every group performed with professionalism, skill, enthusiasm and dedication to their art, and their passion and creativity is inspirational. The groups who performed at Gasworks Circus Showdown 2014 are often performing at festivals, theatres and events throughout Melbourne and Australia, and we encourage you to grab tickets for you and your friends and see their shows where you can as they are all incredibly talented artists.”
