Few Australian productions take New York by storm, and fewer are created especially for young people. The Book of Everything has changed all that.

It is 1951 and nine year-old Thomas can see things no one else can: tropical fish thriving in the Amsterdam canals, trumpeting sparrows and even a hailstorm of frogs. He also sees the unhappiness of his family, and the pain in his father that lingers long after the war. All this – good and bad – he carefully records in his magical and hopeful Book of Everything.

Funny and deeply touching, The Book of Everything is MTC’s Christmas treat for you and your family. Playwright Richard Tulloch and director Neil Armfield – along with designer Kim Carpenter – have turned a classic children’s story into an enchanting play for all ages. So bring your kids, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, or even just your inner child, for a day at the theatre like no other.

A Belvoir and Kim Carpenter’s Theatre of Image co-production.
