Position Available: LEGS ON THE WALL - Artistic Associate

Legs On The Wall is looking for an Artistic Associate to join our small and passionate team. The successful applicant will have a number of years experience working in the performing arts and be comfortable leading workshops in the practice of physical theatre. They will be joining the company during an exciting new phase of creation and expansion. With recent successes at festivals across Australia, we are currently preparing for our production of The Voyage, a key event in the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad.

Based at our Sydney headquarters, you will work closely with the Artistic Director and be primarily responsible for:

Education and Outreach program
• managing Legs On The Wall’s education workshop and outreach programs in consultation with the Artistic Director, identifying new opportunities and looking to expand the scope of the program.
• lead classes, primarily in secondary schools but potentially from primary through to tertiary.
• liaise with and manage Legs On The Wall’s relationship with guest tutors

Core Artistic Program
In collaboration with the Artistic Director;
• building relationships with potential artists, production staff and technicians for future projects
• researching and developing ideas as required
• actively participating in contemporary performance culture

This is a full time position with the built in flexibility to allow the successful candidate time away from the company to work on other projects.
