CASTING – Core participants
We are excited to announce that we are looking for people within Melbourne’s performance community to be involved in Melbourne and Berlin-based artist Alicia Frankovich’s significant new performance Defending plural experiences. This work will be presented on Saturday 11 October at the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art as part of the Melbourne Festival 2014. Casting for the project will happen mid September, with rehearsals and a video shoot taking place in the weeks immediately leading up to the live performance at ACCA.
Defending plural experiences celebrates human possibility and transformative potential through a devised choreography. The work uses movement to focus attention on joining together many individuals in collective situations. Plurality is its key premise and we are looking to bring together a diverse range of participants from various social and cultural communities.
Interested participants should be physically active people who are interested and able to participate in a simple choreography as part of the performance. No professional training is required, just interest and agility!
The artist would like to welcome participants from the lesbian, gay and transgender community for the occasion.
The artist would like to welcome pregnant participants as well as dancers from diverse ages and backgrounds for the occasion.
All participants must be over the age of 18.
