This Side Up acrobatics members Christian Schoonerveldt-Reid, David Joseph and Karen Berger had a fantastic week with the Circus Ninjas out at Uluru.

TSU where lucky enough to be invited to work with the Circus Ninjas, a great troupe of young indigenous performers who are based in the Mutitjulu community at Uluru. Christian did a week with these great kids and their trainer Ludo Dumas in Byron Bay, where they trained and performed every day. Their shows were received with great warmth and wonder by locals and tourists alike. On their return to Mutijulu the Ninjas worked up some new material for a show at the Yulara resort. Quite a few of Ludo’s regular boys were away and this created a great opportunity for a group of fantastic young girls to take their place in the show. Whilst TSU were there Ludo received some exciting news about funding for two trips to Melbourne and there are some really exciting plans for the Ninjas to be part of Circus Oz’s Blackflip program as part of this years Melbourne Festival, as well as other opportunities for professional and personal development. These kids are on a wonderful journey of discovery, led by their committed trainer Ludo Dumas, and fed by their natural abilities. TSU are honoured to be a part of this huge journey in our small way.
