Over the last 21 years, Mullumbimby’s own home-grown circus school and performance troupe, Spaghetti Circus, has not only become an integral part of the local culture, but has also made significant contributions to the circus community at large. The 2013 Mullumbimby Circus Festival was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate Spaghetti’s achievements and to reconnect with the wider circus family. Heartfelt thanks to all who attended and gave of their time (and for those who couldn’t make it, hopefully we’ll see you in 2015).
Our organisation is now undergoing important changes that we hope will secure our long-term sustainability and build our capacity to keep contributing to both our local and extended communities. In true circus form – with equal measures of exciting and scary – we’re forging ahead into new territory – but we need some help.
An essential part of recent developments has been the strengthening of our governance, and to continue this process, we’re currently seeking to extend our board of management. We’re looking for skilled and committed individuals who’re interested in channeling their passion for circus into serving as voluntary directors on our board.
In addition to some kind of circus experience or associated awesomeness, candidates would ideally have some background in governance and/or business or possess some other skills that may benefit the organisation (legal, accounting, marketing, IT, networking, fundraising etc).
If such a position does not appeal to you, or the tyranny of distance precludes your otherwise eager participation, it would be greatly appreciated if you could forward this information on to anyone in your network that you think may be interested and appropriate as a potential candidate.

p.s. Did I mention that the Byron Shire is a really, really nice place to live?
