Two of Australia’s best-known country comedy characters, The Crackup Sisters, are launching plans for an Outback Circus and Arts Training Centre in Winton this week.
They usually travel Australia cracking whips, flips and jokes, and have just been awarded the QRRRWN Storyteller of the Year award, but this week will be “at home” for a sausage sizzle and open house.
Alyssa Venning and Amanda-Lyn Pearson, aka Twigs and S.T. Ruth, purchased the property in the main street of Winton last year and after conversations with the ex-owner, Bluey Heslin and other members of the community they have decided to rebuild the Winton icon, maintaining the quirkiness and history of the place.
This Thursday, October 20 they will be launching their plans for the house which will include an Outback Circus and Arts Training Centre.
All members of the community and beyond are invited to the free show starting at 6m at 100 Elderslie Street, Winton, for a sausage sizzle and to hear the next stage of their plans.
