PATA is delighted to announce that the Australian Performing Arts Centres Association (APACA) will host a national face-to-face performing arts touring market in 2015 in place of Long Paddock. The new Performing Arts Exchange will be held as part of the 2015 APACA conference, Mobilise, August 17 – 20 at Carriageworks in Sydney.
APACA Executive Director Bronwyn Edinger said “Touring is core business for APACA. The 2014 conference included very successful showcase sessions, thanks to Tasmania Performs, so this year’s Performing Arts Exchange represents an extension of those activities. We have responded to delegate feedback by separating the touring aspects (Performing Arts Exchange) from the more traditional conference activities and delegates will be able to attend as little or as much of the total conference as they wish.”
The Performing Arts Exchange will take place over the first two days of the conference, August 17 & 18.
John Oster, Executive Director of Regional Arts Australia noted, “This is a fabulous re-imagining of a national gathering. There is great synergy and sense of common purpose between the Performing Arts Exchange and APACA’s objectives for its national Mobilise conference. The national Performing Arts Exchange is envisaged as a platform where producers and presenters can meet on common ground to build opportunities for artistic and commercial exchange.”
Other state-based, face-to-face markets planned for 2015 include:
16th & 17th March
Queensland Touring Showcase
Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre
