WHAT IS THE SENATE INQUIRY? Following the major cuts that were announced to the recent arts budget, ArtsPeak (the confederation of national peak arts organisations) made a call for a Senate Inquiry. The Senate Inquiry is investigating the impact of the of the 2014 and 2015 Commonwealth Budget decisions on the Arts. This is an opportunity for Australians to tell the Government what the effects these cuts are having on the vitality and sustainability of the arts in Australia.
THINGS YOU CAN DO:
- Submit to the Senate Inquiry! [Submissions close 17 July] If you’re not sure how, download the template here.
- Write to your federal member voicing your opinions
- Join the #freethearts Facebook Group [stay in the loop]
