I learnt how to juggle as a 12 year old from Jeff Turpin at Maleny Folk Festival where I also saw The Banana Brothers (Mike Finch and crew – which grew into precarious/Monoxide) and Rumple doing St shows which encouraged me more.

I make videos about circus people in Australia – Carnival Cinema.

WHAT DOES CIRCUS MEAN TO YOU?
It has been my enduring passion (in many forms) for the last 19 years.
 

WHAT’S THE HIGHLIGHT OF YOUR CIRCUS CAREER SO FAR?
Breaking both the bones in my left arm coming off a tall uni as a trainer with the Flying Fruit Flies in 2001.

IF YOU WEREN’T DOING CIRCUS, WHAT WOULD YOU BE DOING RIGHT NOW? Making films.

WHAT SKILLS DO YOU LIKE PERFORMING AND WHY?
My skills these days are filming and editing circus shows. I enjoy it because I get to document the community that I am in.

WHERE WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE IN 5 YEARS TIME?
Doing what I’m doing with a little more financial security.

WHY DO WE NEED CIRCUS IN THE WORLD?
To escape
