Kristy Seymour has worked for over 14 years in the world of circus arts.
After performing for many years Kristy now specialises in training and choreography. She is well known and respected for her extensive work in the Youth Circus sector, leading a team of inspiring artists as the Head Trainer of Flipside Circus in Brisbane 2004-2010. Working as a creative producer and choreographer, she has collaborated with leading arts organizations, venues and festivals such as: Strut n Fret Production House, The Brisbane Powerhouse, QPAC, Out of the Box Festival and the Brisbane Festival and has toured her work to Adelaide Fringe 2008, 2009, 2010, as well as the Woodford Folk Festival 2005-2010.
Kristy is also a circus academic, completing her thesis about her work using circus as therapy for autistic children in 2012 which led her to start her school “Circus Stars” specialising in this. In 2014 she will begin her PhD on the History of Contemporary Circus in Australia at Griffith University Gold Coast Campus.
